Suitable for any Holden with Alloytec 190,
or 190kW LY7 GM HFV6.
METRIC ONLY at this stage.

--Specifically designed for the VZ Holden Adventra --

FEATURES:

MAIN SCREEN (Driving)
This is intended for use most of the time.

INTAKE
******
******
Intake air temperature (IAT) is important, especially if you have a cold air intake (CAI). The

colder the intake air, the denser the oxygen content, and more power your engine can provide.
This gauge monitors IAT from 0C to 50C, though the text advisories go beyond that. The sensor

housing may heat up, providing a false reading.

Text Advisories:
0-14 = COLD AIR
15-24 = COOL AIR
25-34 = WARM AIR
35-44 = HOT AIR
45-54 = V. HOT AIR
55+ = EXTREMELY HOT AIR

COOLANT
*******
*******
The temperature of the Engine Coolant gives some idea of how hot the engine itself is running.

This gauge measures from 0-140C. These values are aligned with the functioning of the Alloytec

engine.
The red line indicates 125C, serious overheating, where the Alloytec engine will go into "limp

home" mode, trying to keep cool by alternating between 2 banks of 3 cylinders so that you can get

to a service centre or safety. Speed in this mode should not exceed 80 km/h.

COLOUR CODES
The bar is colour coded, with corresponding Text Advisories:
0-81 = BLUE = COOL (thermostat closed)
82-95 = GREEN = WARM (thermostat opening range)
96-104 = YELLOW = NORM (normal operation)
105-107 = ORANGE = HOT (running a bit hot)
> 107 = RED = OVER HEATING (this should not persist)

The vehicle's cooling fans should cut in at the YELLOW range or above, depending on other

conditions, such as speed and A/C status.

SPEED AND MAIN
**************
**************
This area contains a number of gauges and Text Alerts.

THROTTLE
********
The standard actual Throttle setting gauge from Tuxedo, in %.

SPEED
*****
Text indicates speed in km/h.
Above 110km/h, the numbers change colour as a warning, since this is the legal speed limit on the

open road in most states.

RPM
***
Yellow numbers indicate RPM.
The gauge also indicates RPM graphically.
Above 4000 RPM, the gauge turns BLUE and the text AIR MIX APPEARS, to indicate that the air intake

valve has opened to mix the airstreams for maximum torque at high RPM. (Alloytec 190 only)
Above 5500 RPM, the gauge turns RED to indicate very high RPM that should not be sustained.

(redline) A large WARNING! text appears to emphasise this.

RPM Text Advisories
The following text advisories appear to the right of the Holden logo:

RPM < 1 = ENGINE OFF (in case you can't hear it)
RPM < 660 = IDLE (actual idle is 600 (A/C off) or 650 (A/C on) - leeway was added)
RPM < 3000 = NOMINAL (this is invisible so as not to distract the driver)
RPM < 4000 = HIGH (this is arbitrary but seems right for the V6 Adventra)
RPM < 5500 = VERY HIGH (time to back off)
RPM > 5500 = EXTREME RPM (don't hold it here for long!)

CYCLE
*****
This is the standard Engine Cycle gauge from Tuxedo, indicating Open or Closed Loop.

VOLTS
*****
This gauge indicates the sytem voltage.
The gauge is not colour-coded, but the Text Advisories are.
The gauge checks if the engine is ON, and the advisories alter accordingly.

Text Advisories:

(if Engine ON)
< 13.5v = VOLTAGE LOW
> 14.8V = VOLTAGE HIGH
anything else = VOLTAGE OK

(if Engine OFF - this is Battery resting voltage)
< 12.4v = BATTERY LOW
> 12.8v = BATTERY OVER
anything else = BATTERY OK

LOAD
****
This indicates Engine Load.
It is not colour coded.

GEAR
****
This uses the gear change logic from Tuxedo.
Since the Adventra is Automatic, it tries to calculate the current gear. Vehicle info such as

gear ratios must be entered for this to work. If it can't calculate the current gear, it just

shows "G".

FUEL ECONOMY
************
************
The Adventra can be a very thirsty vehicle, and even slightly injudicious use of the accelerator

can drastically decrease fuel economy. Text Advisories have been added to make it easy to know

when you're wasting fuel.
This is a cluster of several gauges/indicators:

FUEL ECONOMY GRAPH
******************
This uses the new Quick Graph technology, currently in Beta.
Unfortunately, the vertical scale cannot be set, and it auto-scales, so if you hit the accelerator

hard & produde a ridiculously poor fuel economy (like 80L/100km), that becomes the top of the

scale, amking tghe gauge harder to read for normal numbers.

FUEL ECONOMY
************
This is a compacted version of the Tuxedo Fuel Economy gauge, but ti has been colour-coded. The

Advisory text uses the same colour codes, making it easy to see when you're doing well.

< 10L/100km = GREEN = GOOD (good for the Adventra, anyway)
< 15L/100km = YELLOW = FAIR (this is usually about the average)
> 15L/100km = RED = POOR (ease off - you're wasting fuel! or going uphill)

DRIVING WARNINGS
****************
HEAVY ACCEL. = Acceleration > 2 m/s - probably wasting fuel
HEAVY BRAKING = Deceleration > -2 m/s - wearing out brake pads and not planning stops properly
ENGINE COLD! = RPM>2300 AND COOLANT<82 - don't rev high with a cold engine!
HVY. CORNERING = Too many G's cornering = tyre wear / danger
(NOT YET IMPLEMENTED DUE TO LACK OF G-SENSOR SUPPORT)

ENGINE
******
******
This has been rebuilt almost from scratch & contains a number of indicators for for drivers

interested in what their engine is doing, or for detecting problems.

The red bars inside the curved gauges are new, and indicate MAX readings.
